Two Poems in Search of an Author

A Note on the Versus Eporedienses and the Novus Avianus Astensis

Abstract

This paper offers a metrical (and a preliminary stylistic) analysis of the poem Versus Eporedienses which is compared to the Novus Avianus Astensis, and proposes the hypothesis that the two anonymous poems have been written in the same milieu or even by the same author.
